And a very big thank you to all the actresses who auditioned for the part of Jessica Watson. Some of you were called back several times. One of you performed for a test shoot of the whole film. You all know who you are. You were ALL very good, and you ALL helped make Cam Girl an award winner. Because of your auditions, I was able to improve a few lines, and decide on which camera shots were best. I wish to thank you most sincerely for auditioning, and I wish you all the best. Keep in touch, and if you would like a free copy of Cam Girl, just let me know. **************************************************************************
CAM GIRL was sent to over 130 film festivals, 4 other venues, and 6 TV networks. It was well received at festivals, and won two awards. CAM GIRL won a Platinum Remi award at Worldfest in Houston, where there were 4500 entries in various categories. And on September 2005, Sarah won "Best Actress" in Erie PA. She won over 3 other actresses, including an actress in a million dollar feature film. They showed the film a second time at their "Best of The Fest" program on the final day. At the Broken Lamp Film Festival in Middletown Ohio Cam Girl was also well received. It came in second for Best Short, and second for Best Screenplay, and got third place for Best Director, and third place for Best Editing. In Tulsa Oklahoma, Cam Girl was nominated for Best Foreign Film and Sarah was nominated for Best Actress. It has screened in 13 cities, including Hollywood and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Here are some comments about Cam Girl.

"Brilliant and powerful......"

"Dear Steve Cosmic,
Your film, I found, is amazingly done. Sarah’s performance is dramatic and truly outstanding. The script itself must have not only been hard to write, but also a difficult project to put onto film. Sarah’s acting is so real that I was not sure if I was watching actual footage of a cam girl telling her horrifying life experience or simply an actress playing a role. In short, the film was gripping, moving, realistic, and the story very well told, with acting quality equal to that of anyone in cinema today. We consider it an honor to have had the opportunity to screen Cam Girl at the 2005 Great Lakes Independent Film Festival. Best of luck to you with this film and your future projects. We also look forward to seeing a new entry from you in the coming years. "
Sincerely, Steven M. Opsanic, President, C.E.O. Great Lakes Film Association

"Cam Girl is a wonderful project......... the more people who see it, the more rescues and understanding will result."

"I absolutely love Cam Girl. I was moved to tears......"

"CAM GIRL is very powerful, and the more people that see it the better! You did an awesome job, and your actress is amazing."
Kerrie Long, General Manager, Edmonton International Film Festival

"I am a psychologist with 32 years experience and I treat abused women. I saw Cam Girl at a festival in Tulsa Oklahoma, and I was truly impressed with Cam Girl for its authenticity, pathos and depth. While watching, I felt transported to my office, sitting in front of a confused young woman who uses her body to control and excite others while having no sense of her own self. As a screenwriter, I was impressed with Steve Cosmic’s candor, insight and motivation to tell this story. It is a truthful and impressive short film."
Phyliss Shanken, M.A., Psychologist & Screenwriter, Director of Psychological Services,

"Cam Girl was very good, and it was very brave of you to do it."

"We were glad to show it. It is a very powerful piece"
Spokesman for The Broken Lamp Film Festival in Ohio

"I just watched Cam Girl.  It was excellent! Your best work by far. Congrats, Steve. So many good points I don't know where to start. The music was awesome."
                Jeff M. Vancouver

"Cam Girl is a brutally honest look at the dark side of human nature and a must see for anyone who doesn’t feel an ethical responsibility to end sexual abuse. This is a story told in a way you will never see in a movie of the week or in your local Cineplex; this is reality. The message behind ‘Cam Girl’ is larger than independent film or a film festival; it speaks to all humankind."
TJ Grable, Chairperson/Logistics Director, Frederick Festival of Film

"I found CAM GIRL to be very riveting and very powerful. I thought Sarah Sands (aka Jessica Watson) did a very good job of portraying a young girl who makes her living as an internet chat hostess who was sexually abused as a young child by her father. I really enjoyed watching it. I would recommend "Cam Girl" to anyone who has experienced some type of sexual abuse in their life. It helps get the message out there for those who have been sexually abused but who are afraid to seek help that there are people out there who can and want to help."
                Carey E. Vancouver

"I thought Cam Girl was very well done, and I must say it did leave an impact. Thank you for making this film."
                Meaghan

"Thank you for your movie "Cam Girl". It is an important project that demands all of our attention. It is positive and impacting. A special thank you Steve for taking the time and responsibility to creatively and constructively create a project that can make a positive impact on people."
Loren Reed, Global Art Film Festival Tour 2005.

"I saw CAM GIRL at the 2005 Frederick Film Festival. It is a brilliant film. You have captured the essence of sexual abuse damage and released it through the extraordinary performance of Ms. Sands. It is the strongest film I have seen on the long term personal damage to the victims. I am interested in obtaining a DVD of the film to show to our substance abuse and child abuse counselors and the police. Let me know the cost. It will come out of my pocket at the moment, but this work needs to be supported. I'm glad to know you are writing a longer script on this theme. I'm not in the position at the moment to bankroll you, but I will certainly make a contribution."

During auditions, someone said "this is the most difficult script ever written." Good work Sarah! You are great! We'll see you in the big time soon!

SYNOPSIS

Jessica Watson talks to a video journalist from her apartment where she is sitting at her computer, working as an internet cam girl. She tells about her job..... she types at her keyboard while she talks..... telling the viewer what it is like to be a cam girl, and why she does it. She relates how she was sexually abused by her father, and how she became involved with drug smuggling as a child. She talks about her brother who died, and her mother who knew what was going on but did nothing to stop it. Jessica tells about how she has been unsuccessful in relationships, attracting drug users and dealers who use and abuse her. At one point she says she wants to get revenge, and later she talks about telling the police. She retains hope for a better life ahead.

CAM GIRL has brief nudity and coarse language. Gritty, raw, and emotional, it will make you think.

Donations and help wanted to distribute CAM GIRL and get it out there. This project will help rescue some children from sexual abuse.  Please please help. I have struggled with this project for a long time, and I really do need others to help too. Thank you! You will find out how it works at this link.   CLICK HERE.
